Theatre Combat

EUROPEAN LONGSWORD

European longsword is the “traditional” lightsaber style used for the theatre combat styles in the Star Wars universe. It is a wide and sweeping style created to fight armoured opponents. When combined with flourishes from Wing Chung it creates the fighting style we loved in episodes 2 and 3. The theatre combat system you learn here was used on the set of those films.

Weapons and techniques taught - Lightsaber and Gaffi Stick

BALINTAWAK

This is our more advanced weapons style and was used as the basis for the fighting style used in the 2021 movie Dune. An obscure off-shoot of Eskrima/Kali/Arnis (Filipino Stick Fighting), this is a dynamic and challenging style that uses a single weapon and an empty hand to create a flowing, circular style. This is the same fight style used in the Dune movie Series

Weapons and Techniques Taught - Stick, Machete, Knife and Hand-to-hand.

Spin and Flow

Spin and flow is a holistic activity where students learn to still their minds, unify body movement and look way cool! Once a student has learned the 15 different spins individually, they begin to combine them into a variety of spin routines that require the student to let go of their day-to-day thoughts and settle into the momentum of the spin routine.

Students come for the combat but they stay for the spins!
