Here at the Sons, we like to match people with a durable, balanced and ascetically pleasing Australian Made Combat Saber. We have a range of hilt styles available - all initially machined out of aircraft-grade aluminium alloy - that can be plated, powder coated or cerokoted with almost any finish that you can imagine. All of our sabers are made by The Sons and a collective of small businesses across the Central Coast and Sydney in NSW, Australia.

Step One - Select Your Hilt
Hurricane
Stocky, and strong, with a hilt that sits firmly in the palm of your hand, the Hurricane is an all-rounder for combat or spins. This hilt has an Olive Drab Cerokote finish with a brown leather wrap. We recommend the Hurricane as the ultimate beginner’s hilt!
Spitfire
One of our most popular models, the Spitfire's flared shroud lends itself well to combat. Evenly-spaced shroud windows show the blade light and give this hilt a more decorative touch. This hilt has a Matte Polished Black Nickel finish with a tan leather wrap.
Mustang
Stylised after Luke Skywalker's first lightsaber, the Mustang is often the first choice for anyone looking for a more authentic movie feel. The Mustang is essentially a stylised Graflex saber. This finish is weathered copper with a snake-embossed cow leather wrap.
Warthog
Hand-crafted and well-balanced for spinning and tosses, the Warthog is the favoured saber of the Sons owner, Luke Boyton. We believe this is the best-balanced saber on Earth! This is a Brushed Brass finish with a maroon leather wrap.

Typhoon
Styled windows and a curved shroud bring an elegant touch to the saber. This has a very similar feel to the warthog and is great for spinning This is a bronze finish with a blue leather wrap.

Vampire
The Vampire features patterned windows based on the Cloud City stairs. This is our lightest metal saber. This hilt has a weathered Brass finish with a grey leather wrap.

Custom Creations
We are only limited by your imagination! As our sabers are hand made and constructed, and the only limitation is that the dimensions of the hilt must fit one of our sleds! Some of the custom creations we have made include the Grand Inquisitor and Edge of Tomorrow Helicopter blade saber!
Step 2 - Select your Hilt Finish
Hilt customisation continues beyond just choosing your model! While Saberdyne Industries hilts are all made from the same aircraft-grade alloy, sometimes raw aluminium just isn't the look you're going for. Looking for a saber that is matte black? The perfect aged brass to pull a steampunk costume together? Swamp-Thing levels of fluorescent green? There are plating options for all of these and more!

We have access to over 150 plating and metal finish options via Astor Metal Finishes in Sydney. Some of the most popular finishes so far have been aged copper, aged nickel and aged brass - and for each of these, there are further matte/brush/polishing options. We can also do powder coating (which is a quicker option for finishes) and cerokote (a military-grade durable finish) through Deco in Minto NSW. Step 3 - Select your LED (Blade) Colour
We are often trialling new colours in our sled LED selection and will announce new colours on both our Facebook page and here on our website. The colours that we have currently available are

Our “Kevlar” removable sled electronics system is based on the use of air cooling to ensure durability and battery life. The average run time of a Saberdyne saber is 6-16 hours of continuous use depending on your LED colour. If you want to change the LED colour of your saber, you can buy an extra sled for $250

Custom Leather Designs
We have a range of wrap options available and are always open to requests for specific materials or styles. Luke creates outstanding hand-tooled and painted leather wraps designed to fit our Saberdyne hilts. A basic design from Luke starts from $200, and in the case of his more unique painted pieces the price will reflect the time and effort involved.
